Arrived at no heat call for Goodman gas furnace, found unit in pressure switch error on arrival. Found drain was completely clogged and had to unclog drain then test unit after it turned back on. Unit needs a horizontal drain kit to prevent excessive amounts of water from building up in the inducer motor. A price is not in the book and we need to follow up with customer on price for repair.

Fully assessed no heating on third zone, which is mudroom of baseboard. Got homeowner to turn off zone one and zone two and just give zone three a call. After approximately 8 to 10 minutes zone three lit up on board open zone valve and everything started heating. Then got home to bring on zone one and two and everything stayed on. Let homeowner know that the boiler will prioritize hot water, but this issue seem to happen at night. Him to keep an eye on it, but everything is working correctly at this time. No charge as per recent install..

Arrived at no heat call for boiler system, went to unit and realized water was all over floor from relief valve that was dumping water everywhere, found expansion tank completely full of water and feeder running nonstop. Turned off feeder and valved off every zone and shut boiler down in order to stop system from completely draining itself, I don’t carry a #60 expansion tank on my truck so I will have to return tomorrow to replace it, customer was made aware. Heat pump in house still functions fine just some rooms are a little cool.

Customer has 100,000 BTU furnace with two sewing first second floor second floor is satisfied first floor is set to 74 at 71 in the house. Customer states that he never reaches 74 for running cycling off and on on high limit. Both dampers are up in the attic, very difficult to get to it. I can only see the green light which means it’s open check return supply column fan speed at max round 1500 CFM. Supply temperature is 145 total temperature 74 system is going off on high limit. Remove bottom door compartment for testing purposes from 145 F to 125 F stayed running the whole time. Apartment it’s super dirty will recommend lower cleaning secondary heat exchanger and adding a 14 x 14 return grill on the return drop to relief pressure off return duct. This will be the only way of keeping furnace running for entire heating cycle. Mr Ruggierello was a very knowledgeable, curteous and professional technician, but my problem was very complicated and Dan could not do more than diagnose my problem as it required a licensed electrician to make an additional repair. Dan gave me direction before he left, and I followed up on his advise. To be continued
