Emergency AC Services: What to Do If Your AC Won’t Turn On
Suppose your air conditioner isn’t turning on – even as the temperature in your house rises – you might be wondering if you need to call for emergency repairs.
If it’s extremely hot out and your house is becoming unsafe, then you may need emergency services. However, in most cases, there are several steps you can take before calling for professional help for central AC repairs.
The first thing you should do is check the breakers. A tripped circuit breaker could be preventing your air conditioner from turning on. Check the breaker and see if it needs to be flipped.
Next, check the batteries on the thermostat. If these are out, it can prevent the AC system from turning on.
Lastly, check the filter to see if it’s clogged or dirty. If it needs to be changed, it can cause the air conditioner to malfunction.
In case you perform these tasks but your unit still won’t turn on, call our AC contractors for emergency services in Honey Brook, PA. DiBiase Heating and Cooling Company provides the ultimate customer experience; your satisfaction is guaranteed!

- Clean or replace the air filters every 1 to 3 months.

- Examine the outdoor unit for debris like leaves and vegetation.

Emergency Heater Repairs? Troubleshoot These Issues First
When your heating system malfunctions, you might panic and quickly schedule emergency repairs. While this is an essential step in some cases, you won’t always need emergency repairs.
In fact, your heater might not even be malfunctioning. It could be a simple issue that you can quickly troubleshoot.
- Replace the filter: A dirty filter can cause your unit to malfunction, resulting in lower indoor air quality.
- Check your thermostat: Make sure your thermostat is set to Heating and the batteries are working.
- Check your electrical panel: Check your panel to ensure the circuit doesn’t trip.
- Examine your vents: Make sure all of your vents are open and are not obstructed.
If you need emergency heater repairs, call for services! DiBiase Heating and Cooling Company provides the ultimate customer experience in Honey Brook, PA.
How to Determine When You Need to Replace Your Heater
Is it time to stop repairing your heater and instead replace it? As a top heating repair company, we know it can be tempting to keep pumping money into repairs. However, it’s essential to watch for the signs that can indicate you need to install a new system.
One of the most significant factors to consider is the age of the unit. If your system is nearing the end of its lifespan and it’s been well-used over the years, it’s time to start thinking about a heating replacement.
Another major sign is rising utility bills. If your energy bills keep going up and your usage hasn’t changed, then it can indicate your unit is losing efficiency – and that it’s starting to deteriorate.
To determine if your heater needs to be replaced, call our contractors at DiBiase Heating and Cooling Company to have them inspect the system and decide whether you need to book a central heating installation.

How to Prepare for Heat Pump Installation
When you schedule a heat pump installation, it’s important to take the proper steps to fully prepare for the services. Some tips our heating contractors recommend are:
- Determine the best spot to install the system. It should have enough space, good airflow, and near outdoor and indoor components.
- Clear the area around the unit to get rid of clutter, furniture, and other items. You should also clear a path from the door to the installation location so the experts can quickly move materials inside.
- Make sure the experts have access to the air handler, evaporator unit, thermostat, and other items as specified by technicians.
- Get any necessary permits before the installation date.
- Clear your schedule to make sure you’re available during the installation so you can answer key questions from the technicians.

Equipment is 2.5 ton AC with 85,000 BTU high-boy oil furnace. Used inspection camera and found several hot spots on heat exchanger. Heat exchanger failed smoke test. Ran blower motor and there is considerable blow back when power/smoke is introduced to heat exchanger. This proves that there is a breach is heat exchanger. Flue gasses can and will make there way into airstream of living space. Combustion tests revealed 400+ PPM Carbon monoxide. I red tagged oil furnace. Do not operate. May cause severe illness or death. Based on the serial number nomenclature this furnace dates to sometime between 1981 and 1988. Furnace should be replaced immediately. I called Isia and informed her. She wants consultation for system upgrade. Discussed with management and tenant. will be available tomorrow. Consultation is scheduled for tomorrow at 10AM. Isia agreed authorize payment for diagnostic fee.
Discussed goals and concerns with customer and verified and ERV on site, so no concerns about the house being too tight. Discussed recommendations and solutions with customer and offered to build proposal in-home. They preferred that I build it and email it to them, which I will do this afternoon.

Fully assess no heating situation. Customer had purchased a new Beckett burner and it was sitting in front of the furnace. Found oil furnace is a 1999. Inspected heat exchanger found some rust and corrosion on heat exchanger. Oil furnace is not worth fixing. Also found return is open to the basement . only real option is to replace oil furnace. Set up appointment with our office to give a replacement estimate.
Fully assessed humidity situation. Found thermostat reading 72% humidity and set to 71° on cooling. Used my psychrometer and found the humidity to be about 63% humidity. The homeowner has their own reader and it was matching my psychrometer. Checked in thermostat settings, and found the thermostat does have a humidity offset, but it was only 5°. Removed thermostat from the wall and used a piece of foam tape and sealed cavity between thermostat and wall cavity. Now found thermostat reading. 71 degrees at 60% humidity. My pschrometer was reading 55% and also homeowners humidity sensor was 55%. Offset thermostat in settings by 5% in the settings this is maximum offset. Still found thermostat to be in accurate by about 5%. Will talked to our office about possibly replacing thermostat. Also talked to homeowner about our home improvement division that could check over the home for improvements.
Removed old gas furnace and A/C outdoor unit, installed new A/C outdoor and gas furnace. Flushed lineset, adapted to supply and return, installed new condensate pump with ez trap, 3/8 vinyl tubing to indoor drain, adapted to flex fuel line, adapted to existing 2” flex, added blower motor surge protector, installed thermostat, new pad for outdoor unit, disconnect with surge protector, connected high and low volt wiring, tested out.

Replaced Aprilaire 35 panel. Housing and drain are clean. Verified wiring and tested humidifier. Water feed valve is set to deliver proper water flow. Set humidistat to “5” or approximately 35% RH System is operating well at this time. Homeowner paid for filter replacement and humidifier pad today.
Heat tune up for 3 ton communicating heat pump with 15KW electric heat: Replaced 20x20x1 filter Cleared EZ trap and cleaned drain pan. Tested pump. Added treatment tabs. Inspected wiring and controls; equipment has surge protection; 15KW electric heat amp draw 60; Good Measured temperature rise Indoor and outdoor coils are in good condition Verified refrigerant charge/pressures Good Verified integrity of compressor Les replaced the air subbed cell recently himself. System is operating well at this time,

Performed precision oil tune up on Weil McLain oil boiler. Brushed and vacuumed heat exchanger chimney base and smoke pipe. Replace pump strainer, .85x45b nozzle and rf1 oil filter. Test water pressure and temps ok water limit set to 180 F test ok. Performed smoke and combustion test. Oil boiler is working fine at time of service. While on site customer asked me if I could replace one of the 1/2 water valve for outside spigot. Provided estimate for replacement 1/2 valve customer approved pricing. Took photos of new water valve check for leaks ok no leaks. Water pressure to house is around 30 psi. Replacement of 1/2 water valve
Performed gas heat tune up/cleaning check electrical low and high voltage connections and components. Replace filter 16x25x1 clean sensor and burners inspect igniter. Check gas pressure performed combustion test, during heat exchanger inspection found all rings in bad shape look to be rings are about to break creating opening to heat exchanger, once this happens gas furnace is no longer safe to run. At this time repairs should be done before customer starts to use heater. Under company safety guidelines furnace has been red tagged and informed to customer. From now on they are responsible if they want to continue using heater under these conditions.
