The company was founded on April 1st, 1974, at the kitchen table of Mr. and Mrs. Woodard Jackson in Dudley, NC. The company was built on a solid Christian foundation, with a lot of faith, and just three employees. The Jackson’s felt that the people in Wayne County needed someone to call on for air conditioning and heating system services, a company they could count on. They were blessed to have their three sons, Danny, David, and Craig, work along side them as the company continued to grow.
After Mr. and Mrs. Jackson retired Danny and David Jackson took over the reins of the company. Danny as President and David as Controller. Jackson & Sons was recognized by INC. magazine in 2007 as one of the 5,000 fastest growing companies in the United States.
Danny and David Jackson along with the leadership team ensured that the company purpose, mission, and values remained strong and ever present. Lyman Beecher Smith, VP of Operations and Installation and Ron Carter, VP of Service were both vital in their roles by ensuring that the company's day to day operations ran smoothly. Their team of professionals included office support, sales, service, and install departments all working together to provide excellent customer service for each and every customer.
The company provides both residential homes and commercial businesses with HVAC maintenance, repairs and new HVAC installations as well as offering an array of HVAC accessories and indoor air quality solutions. Jackson & Sons, Inc. is a company that truly cares about and supports their employees, customers and community.
Jackson & Sons occupies over 22,000 square feet of office, a training, warehouse, and sheet metal manufacturing facilities. An on-site training facility allows for the demand, maintenance and installation divisions to receive continuous ongoing training to provide excellent service which allows our customers one less thing to worry about - being comfortable in their home or business.
In April of 2022, Jackson & Sons became a NearU Service Company. NearU is a family of home services companies led by some of the most prominent veterans and visionaries in the industry.
Danny and David Jackson both retired on April 1st, 2024, with Danny having served for 50 years and David for 49 years. Their legacy will forever be intertwined with the company; they have touched the lives not only of the Jackson & Sons team, but also of the many loyal customers and the community.
Jackson & Sons continues to be guided by a team of strong leaders, spearheaded by Lyman Beecher Smith and Ron Carter, who serve as the General Managers of the NearU Jackson and Sons branch. Their commitment to excellence inspires trust and loyalty among both staff and the customers they serve.
Jackson & Sons, a Near U Services Company is continuing to grow and remaining a leader in the HVAC industry. Today, Jackson & Sons employees over 60 and has a service area that reaches from east of Raleigh to the Coast. In May of 2024, plumbing services were added to the HVAC services and a Worry Free Program is now available for new HVAC system purchases.
It’s now been five decades since the humble beginnings, and what has remained the same through all changes is that Jackson & Sons is still built on a strong Christian foundation and they still have the desire to give every single customer one less thing to worry about—being comfortable.
