Also, keep in mind that as one ages, the risk of breast cancer goes up as most breast cancers are found in women who are 55 and older.

• Limit your alcohol intake. Research has confirmed a link between breast cancer and alcohol consumption.
• There are overwhelming amounts of research and evidence that suggest a relationship between smoking and breast cancer risk as well.
• Some research has suggested a link between breast cancer and radiation exposure. Limit your exposure to radiation by only having x-rays taken when absolutely necessary.
