Tech replaced switch over valve harness. Tech spoke with tech support to update software and was told update would need to be downloaded to a usb and transferred over to the drive. Tech tested system and found normal heat and AC operation at this time. Tech tested both zones individually and found normal operation. Compressor speed at 67 percent.

Tech ran system in heat mode and found pressures near equal at 177/205. System ramped up after a while and the largest pressure difference was 170/236. Tech spoke with tech support due to equipment history and was told to replace reversing valve wiring harness and then update software once harness is replaced. Harness needs to be filed under warranty and tech needs to document how software gets updated.

Tech inspected system and found duct work to be connected. Upon further inspection technician found thermostat wire was wired in and high voltage was wired in as well. Technician did see thermostat on the wall and wired in. Upon further inspection tech found shaft was warped with key and pulley removed from shaft. Tech found pulley and key were warped as well indicating someone started system up and grinded down the shaft and key and pulley. Will need to replace pulley, key, shaft and bearing for blower. Tech also found no smoke detector on system.

Tech found store is brand new, unit is brand new but the issue is that the unit has not been wired up yet and has no high or low voltage. Tech informed the contact. Not a Jackson and Sons install.

-Homeowner discovered condensation around supply register in master bedroom. Found that outer flex insulation did not go all the way down to the register and was not secured below supply duct support brackets. Reasonable damage to sheet rock ceiling. Office may need to follow up on damage repairs. Customer supplied new register and installed while tech was insulating supply duct properly. Re secured outer insulation with panduit strap at proper depth and mounted duct to support brackets flush with ceiling. -Tech checked other supply registers and found all properly secured and insulated. -Not billing for house call fee per maintenance agreement. No charge for re securing duct per recent install.

Tech found system had very low pressure upon arrival. Pressure was too low to conduct a leak search; tech added half a pound of R22 to conduct leak search and found leak in the evaporator coils. System is a 2005 R22 system, no information available for charge quantity. Evaporator was freezing over, causing water to fill the auxiliary drain pan. Tech removed water from pan and confirmed drain line is clear. Advised customer to replace system instead of repair, on account of cost, refrigerant type, and age/condition of the system. Left power on to air handler for air circulation. Shut power off to condenser.

-Performed CMA Inspection on 2 Split System Heat Pumps and 1 Mini Split Heat Pump. -Split System 1: Outdoor disconnect cover missing prior to service. Potential for water intrusion to circuit. Customer should consider replacement of disconnect. Provided estimate. -Split System 2: Compressor Capacitor was recommended for replacement at last service. Provided updated estimate for replacement of capacitor. Debbie approves replacement of capacitor. Outdoor disconnect cover missing prior to service. Potential for water intrusion to circuit. Customer should consider replacement of disconnect. Provided estimate. -All systems operating without challenges at this time. Recommend replacement of 2 outdoor disconnects.

Tech replaced reversing valve solenoid as agreed with customer and replaced wiring harness. Reversing valve remains stuck and will not shift as designed. System stays in heat mode, despite receiving 24V to the solenoid. Re-installed old solenoid and recovered new solenoid; left new wiring harness installed. Old harness had to be cut to be removed. Advised customer that their two options are: (1), replace reversing valve or (2), replace the system. Customer stated they will call us when they reach a decision. Did not charge customer for this visit.

Aidan T.
Tech found that system runs in heat mode when thermostat calls for cool. 24v power is received at reversing valve solenoid but valve will not shift. Tech will replace solenoid valve before further diagnosing the system to ensure the issue is thoroughly resolved. Thermostat programming is correct and all 24 volt circuitry is functioning as designed. Tech has initiated a maintenance agreement with homeowner that will not be finalized until system is repaired and operating normally.

Upon arrival tech found upstairs system running very high refrigerant pressures due to failed supply duct. Supply duct box that attaches to flex from air handler to trunkline had failed and was open causing all conditioned air to enter attic. Side of box is duct board, tech reattached box as best as possible for time being. Box will certainly need to be replaced. Estimate set to customer. Box measurements: 30” 1/8x12”x20” 1/4
