The entire Jackson and Sons team were a pleasure to work with. The price they quoted was what was written up. There were extra fees or add on prices that some companies throw in. The technicians arrived in the morning and continued all day and set up a canopy when it started raining. Their supervisor came and made sure I had no issues and answered all my questions. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Jackson and Sons to my family and friends.

My daughter is with her husband at Duke while he is having cancer surgery this morning The last thing she said to me this morning was ‘don’t let anything happen to my kitten. She has been a blessing and comfort to them.

Right before morning service, Jackson and Sons dispatched technican Joseph Clarke to access why we did not have sufficient heat coming from the heat unit. He arrived within 15 minutes of his call, found the problem, and the heat was back on in about 15 minutes. Great service!!! Don't understand why a 6 month old gas pack has tripped out though. He said Jackson and Sons will follow up this week.

—Maintenance states Big White (Pal’s) House is not heating correctly. States he has set thermostat to Emergency Heat. —Defrost controller indicates a call for heat with following status: C (coil temp) 51 A (ambient temp) 51 F (fault) 6. Fault 6 indicates low pressure cut out. System was not operating compressor due to fault code. —Found coil temperature sensor giving inaccurate data input at defrost controller. Relocated coil temperature sensor to bottom of suction lines at condenser coil. —System is now operating heat & defrost as expected, with a return temperature of 62 and a supply temperature of 86 with heat pump only. Supply temperature is 98 with auxiliary heat running. —No Service Call Fee per recent repair.

—Customer states unit runs but does not blow air. Removed thermostat from wall to verify low voltage at thermostat. No common wire installed with wiring. Observed possible low voltage on Blower wire terminal with thermostat removed. Found 10v on blower wire in unit without call from thermostat. This indicates a short in thermostat wire. Thermostat wire should be replaced. Provided estimate to replace approximately 30’ of thermostat wire. —Observed blower wheel difficult to turn by hand, indicating that blower motor has physically failed and is seized. Smell of burning electronics in compartment. Verified blower motor pulls amperage but only hums and does not operate. Recommend replacement of blower motor. 208/230 v 1/3 hp 1075 rpm. Provided estimate for blower motor. —Compressor capacitor tested weak. Rated for 40 mfd with a tolerance of 6%. Actual reading below 36. Recommend replacement of 40 mfd capacitor. Provided estimate for capacitor. —Found heat strips and fuse links

Tech washed and serviced unit, unit is older but no leaks detected and unit is operating properly with a delta T of 22. Tech reccomended extending ESA, customer approved. Customer provided filters for returns and dehumidifier.

I was called to replace a cast iron pipe that was leaking in a home's ceiling. I removed the old pipe and replaced it with a new one. The job was completed in about 2 hours. We will not be replacing the main sewer line at this time.

Tech washed and serviced unit, tech found air handler not running upon arrival. A wire coming off heat strips is melted. Turned off power to air handler and will wait for demand tech to come out. Evaporator coils are in rough shape cleaned as best as possible no leaks detected. Could not get delta T due to leaving power off. Customer wants to talk with demand tech about renewal.

Tech arrived and spoke with church secretary, customer stated hp#3 not working and hp#4 still creating excessive dust. Tech found hp#3 to have failed blower and surface rust on face of evaporator coil, tech quoted for repair and spoke with customer about age and cost and scheduled for field supervisor to come out and quote new system. Tech found hp#4 had excessive amounts of white powder substance from when air handler flooded, tech informed customer of issue and cleaned out dust and debris. Tech spoke with customer regarding indoor air purification and built estimate for presentation to trustee board.

Defrost control not detecting when sensor activates causing system not to enter defrost. Tech arrived and found system is entering and operating properly in heat and defrost modes, tech suspects defrost sensor was not attached to board properly before tech tested and rewired system. Office stated to keep board in warehouse in case future issue but stated not to install at this time.

Found the system operating and thermostat satisfied at 74 degrees. Tested the heat cycle and gathered a 44 degree delta T. Tech tested to cycle the system on and off at the thermostat noticed that the thermostat hesitated/did not make to make a heat call even with the delay time turned off. Tech diagnosed a faulty thermostat. Customer approved replacing the thermostat and tested the system afterwards. System is back heating.

Found a split bolt damaged and loose which caused the high voltage wires to get burnt. Tech replaced the split bolts. Customer approved the repairs only and declined maintenance plans for now due to finances. Tested system in heat mode afterwards. Collected via check.

Found a ceiling tile wet, leak is coming from the roof, not the system. Heavy rain fall was experienced this weekend. Tech find a small hole on the sheet metal of the roof, tech filled it up with silicone and placed a screw on the hole and added more silicone on top. Tech also re-caulked some areas of the hood. Tech will send the pictures over to the owner. Roof work may need to be performed if the challenge persists. Customer did state that they had a leak problem before but now it has gotten a little worst. It appeared that the old system was sitting on top of the hole that was found today. System less than 2 years old.

Found the defrost coil temperature sensor not secured properly to the cooper line, tech relocated it and secured it, system does go into defrost, pressures look good. Tech noticed the heat strips not pulling proper amp draw and found the recently installed service disconnect melted. Tech went under the house and pulled the line wire to have enough to replace the service disconnect and remove the split bolts. Tech siliconed around the disconnect and turned the breaker back on for heat strip operation. System was not frozen during arrival. Set up settings in the universal defrost board are correct. Service warranty.

Tech performed maintenance on 1 Trane gas pack system. Only challenge found during visit is compressor megohm in the bad indicating internal winding insulation is deteriorating and on the verge on failure. Informed homeowner of findings and emailed estimate to replace under warranty. Informed homeowner to call office once a decision was made to get repair scheduled. System is back operational in heat mode.
