Catholic Cemetery 1

During renovations of the chapel at the Holy Sepulcher Catholic Cemetery in Alsip, IL, maintenance discovered heavily rusted and deteriorated underground air ducts. Faced with the price tag of abandoning the ducts and moving the system overhead, they contacted Trenchless Innovations for an alternative solution.

The building consisted of five different systems of spiral-wound metal underground ducts, encompassing approximately 750 linear feet and leading to four different chapel rooms. Trenchless Innovations devised a solution to line the ducts.

Using a method called trenchless casting, our team applied mortar to the ducts, restoring their integrity and creating new, structurally sound ones inside the old metal ones. Our team then spray lined the length of the ducts, rebuilding and lining the plenums of each furnace as well.

We completed the project over the course of ten days, during which services were still able to take place. Our trenchless process prevented disruption to the cemetery’s operations, leaving nothing but brand new ducts, a healthier breathing environment for visitors and thousands of dollars left in the cemetery’s pockets.
