Sewer Line & Air Duct Repair FAQs
One of the main causes of sewer problems near Highland Park is tree roots. Tree roots seek water and sewer pipes are the perfect place for them to thrive. They can find a way into your sewer line if there are cracks in the pipe, and even the smallest cracks can allow them in. Once in your pipes, they continue to grow and cause clogs and havoc in your sewer line. So if you have lots of trees or bushes on your landscape, and you experience recurring backups, tree roots are most likely the cause. Other common causes of sewer problems are items that shouldn’t be flushed down the toilet, such as wipes, paper towels and feminine hygiene products and a general buildup of hair, soap, detergents and other debris that flows through your sewer pipes.
You will know your yard may be leaking sewage when there are large areas of overgrown grass throughout your yard. These areas of overgrowth can indicate where breaks in your sewer line are found, leading to thick patches of grass in your landscape.
The cost of underground duct repair varies based on several factors, the most important ones being the length of line to be repaired, the condition of the duct pipe and how accessible the ducts are. Today I performed ductwork restoration services at a residence in Highland Park, Illinois. The scope of work involved applying the initial coat of Duct Armor sealant to all underground duct runs as well as the interior of the furnace box itself. Duct Armor is a specialized elastomeric coating that seals and encapsulates duct surfaces to prevent moisture intrusion, inhibit mold growth, and improve airflow efficiency. Properly sealing and insulating ductwork is an important part of maintaining healthy indoor air quality and optimizing HVAC system performance. After allowing the first application to cure, a secondary coat will be applied to complete this duct rehabilitation project.
