Overcoming The Suburban Swamp
Middletown is expanding faster than a rocket at liftoff, and with that growth comes a unique architectural challenge. Many of the newer builds in the 19709 area feature expansive floor plans that standard HVAC systems struggle to regulate. This leads to the "suburban swamp" effect—where your upstairs feels like a sauna while your basement is a walk-in freezer.
Moon Air is the specialized HVAC contractor in Middletown, DE, that provides the engineering necessary to balance your home’s "ecosystem."

How We Stabilize Your Home’s Atmosphere:
-
The "Zero-Leak" Initiative: We don't just patch ducts; we use Aeroseal technology to pressurize and seal your ventilation from the inside. This ensures the air you pay for actually reaches those hard-to-cool second-story bedrooms.
-
The Humidity Grounding Mission: Drier air feels cooler. By integrating a whole-home dehumidifier, we allow you to set your thermostat to 74°F while feeling like it’s 69°F, significantly reducing the load on your AC.
-
Amana Reliability: We exclusively install Amana systems, known for their "bulletproof" durability in the face of Delaware’s humid summers and erratic winters.

I successfully managed the renewal process for two exclusive gold club memberships. This involved verifying and updating the membership details, ensuring all personal information was current and accurate. I navigated the membership portal to complete the renewal forms, handled any necessary payments, and confirmed the renewal status. Additionally, I reviewed the benefits associated with the gold club membership to ensure the members were fully aware of their entitlements. The renewals were processed promptly, maintaining the members' premium status without any interruptions.
Upon arrival, I identified that the air conditioning system was not functioning. Upon inspection, I discovered that the exhaust removal system was faulty. The variable speed exhaust removal system (EXS) was found to be the root cause of the issue, causing the unit to trip the high pressure switch. To prevent further damage, I powered down the AC system and informed the customer that the system would remain inactive until the faulty part was replaced. After obtaining the necessary replacement part, I returned and installed it. Following the installation, I thoroughly checked all operations to ensure everything was functioning correctly. The air conditioning system is now operating normally, and all systems are running as expected. This work is covered under warranty, as indicated by the WO-TNFR667434 warranty.
I inspected the evaporator and confirmed that the level was satisfactory. The drain pitch was also checked and found to be appropriate. The outdoor unit was examined for wiring and piping integrity, both of which appeared to be in good condition. The charge unit was found to be low on refrigerant, so I added 2 ounces of R-32. The subcooling improved from 5 to 8, indicating a successful adjustment.
Job WO-TNFR662649 involved a comprehensive rejuvenation of two AC systems. The basement unit was thoroughly cleaned and tested, showing no operational concerns and operating efficiently. The upstairs unit, however, required attention. The air circulation motor was showing signs of failure, prompting a recommendation for replacement. A silver repair option was selected, and the office will coordinate the return visit once the necessary parts arrive. Upon returning, the main exhaust removal system's motor was replaced, the exhaust blade was renovated, multiple secondary electronics were replaced, and wiring issues and connections were corrected. Post-repair testing confirmed the system's operational status and improved efficiency, verified by temperature checks at the vents.

Inspected both indoor units and verified that all components were operating properly with secure electrical connections throughout. Upon evaluating the outdoor units, both systems were found to have faults within the voltage delivery system affecting proper operation. Discussed findings and available solutions with the customer. Customer elected to schedule a follow-up visit with our field supervisor to review replacement options and receive estimates for new system installations.

I scheduled an estimate visit with Steve Podesta after meeting him at the Middletown Peach Festival, where I asked him about the mini-split. The visit took place on 6 Sept, 2023 and was great. Steve analyzed the room where I'd place the mini-split, shared some options about its possible placement in the room and outside, carefully explaining how the coolent and drainage pipes would be placed/arranged coming from the room to the outside pump. He worked up a proposal with my options and provided the product literature for the units proposed. I have all I need to make a decision. I'm very satisfied with the visit. Thanks!
